INVITATION: You are cordially invited to attend the 2017 Bucket Hat 420 Regatta to be held Saturday, April 1, 2017. This Regatta shall consist of a series of races to be determined by the PRO and shall all take place on April 1, 2017. The Regatta is open to all who file a proper entry form and pay the entry fee by 0830 hrs., April 1, 2017.

RULES: This Regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) for 2017-2020 as published by the World Sailing and as modified by the Sailing Instructions. All 420s and requisite sails used in the Regatta will be provided by CCYC. Assignment to boats will be made by PRO. Sailors will be responsible for providing their own personal safety equipment. There will be no use of trapeze in this Regatta. Since this is April Fool’s Day, competitors are encouraged to participate in the day’s festivities but shall not hinder the safety of any boat or participant in doing such. This will be grounds for disqualification without hearing by the PRO, this modifies rule 63.1.

ELIGIBILITY: Any sailor or team who files an entry form by 0830 hrs April 1, 2017 is eligible to race. Sailors may enter as individuals or as a team, consisting of 2 sailors. Experience on a 420 is NOT required. Further, it is not required that a sailor be a member of a team. Individual entrants will be assigned to a team at Skippers meeting.

ENTRY FEES: $10 per sailor or $20 per team; entry forms can be found at the front desk at CCYC. Payment can be made via cash, check or club charge.

COURSES: The racing area will be in the general area of the Corpus Christi Marina, i.e. inside the Rocks. Starting areas and courses will be determined and announced at the Skippers meeting.

MEETING: 0900 hrs, Saturday, April 1st, at the Corpus Christi Yacht Club, upstairs deck.
